====== Pointing (behaviour) ====== Pointing behaviour in humans usually emerges in the first few months of an infant's life, before any language skills. By one year of age, around 50% of infants use pointing to draw attention to objects out of reach. It's not currently known to what extent pointing might be a 'learned' behaviour - or whether it's completely innate. >__The emergence of pointing is a central developmental achievement.
