The 59 stones, located near Kåseberga on Sweden's southern coast, are between 1400 and 5500 years old, and weigh up to 4 tonnes. They appear to be laid out in the outline of a ship.

Reasons for its construction are disputed. Theories include uses as : 
  *a burial ground
  *a cult centre
  *a Moon calendar
  *a Sun calendar.
